Connect your Shopify store to RightBlogger to publish articles to your store blog, with a featured image, an excerpt, and the SEO title and description your theme shows in search results. There are no API keys: you approve the RightBlogger app in Shopify, and the connection is saved to your project.

What you need

  • A Shopify store you can install apps on.
  • At least one blog in your Shopify admin. If your store has none, create one in Shopify first.
  • A RightBlogger project for the store. CMS publishing is included on every paid plan.

Connect your store

  1. Open your project from the site picker at the top of the left sidebar (in the top bar on mobile), then open Integrations and choose Shopify.
  2. Click Connect Shopify store.
  3. Shopify opens. Pick your store if you have more than one, sign in, and approve the RightBlogger app.
  4. You return to RightBlogger. Choose the blog new articles go to, then save the project if it asks you to.

If you open the connect link while signed out, sign in to RightBlogger first and the connection picks up where it left off.

Starting from Shopify instead

If you install the RightBlogger app from Shopify rather than from RightBlogger, the order flips:

  1. Approve the app in Shopify.
  2. Sign in to RightBlogger, or create an account. Your store is connected as soon as you do.
  3. If you do not already pay for RightBlogger, Shopify asks you to choose a plan. That plan is billed through your Shopify invoice.
  4. Open the project for your store and choose the blog, as in step 4 above.

Plans billed through Shopify are changed or canceled on Shopify’s plan page; the RightBlogger pricing page sends you there. If you already pay RightBlogger directly, connecting a store does not change how you are billed.

Settings

  • Blog: the Shopify blog articles are published to. Click Refresh if you just created one.
  • Default Author Name: the author shown on published articles. Leave it blank to use your account name.
  • Publish Immediately: on, articles go live as soon as they are sent; off, they are saved as drafts in Shopify for you to review.
  • Auto-Generate Featured Image: adds an AI featured image to each article. On by default.
  • Auto-Generate Excerpt: writes the article summary from its content. On by default.

Every article also gets an SEO title and meta description, written to the fields Shopify themes use for search results. Shopify articles use tags rather than categories, so there is no category to set.

What you can do once connected

  • Send any article from the editor to your store blog.
  • Schedule posts in the Content Planner, or set up autoblogging to research, write and publish on a schedule.
  • Let Site Agent improve articles that are already live, such as internal links, titles and meta descriptions, with one-click undo.
  • Connect your AI through the MCP connector to read and edit your Shopify articles from Claude or ChatGPT.

Disconnect your store

Remove the connection from the Shopify settings in your project. Uninstalling the RightBlogger app in your Shopify admin also ends RightBlogger’s access to the store right away. Articles already published stay on your blog.

Troubleshooting

  • “No blogs found”: create a blog in your Shopify admin, then click Refresh next to the blog list.
  • Articles land as drafts: turn on Publish Immediately if you want them to go live on their own.
  • Wrong store connected: remove the connection from the Shopify settings in your project, then connect again and pick the right store.
