What are SEO Reports and Who Can Use Them?
Before we dive in, I wanna make it clear that RightBlogger’s SEO Reports are not available on the free plan. They’re included only with our Pro (and Business) plans, because the reports require detailed research and technical analysis that relies on a lot of data sources we have running behind-the-scenes. They’re powerful, and I believe—well worth the investment.
Here’s a quick preview of what an SEO Report looks like inside RightBlogger. You can activate an SEO Report using any tool that has an Editor field, including our Article Writer, Video to Blog Tool, Rewriter, Paragraph Tool and more:

Here’s a quick breakdown of how SEO Reports work. Once you’ve written a blog post or piece of content—whether it’s generated from scratch using the Article Writer, from a video you’ve made, or just a quick rewrite—click the “Show SEO Report” button inside the Editor field:

That’ll open up the SEO Report to the starting screen, where you’ll enter the keyword phrase you’d like to optimize your content to rank for:

Be sure you’re choosing a keyword phrase that people actually search for—to make sure you’re meeting a real need with your content. Turn to our Keyword Research and Keyword Cluster tools for data-backed suggestions.
Now, to generate an SEO Report here’s what you’ll do:
- Enter your target keyword phrase (RightBlogger will always recommend one in case you’re feeling unsure)
- Hit analyze and the SEO Report will analyze all the top-ranking content for this topic, understand the intent of the keyword, look at average word count, headings, content structure, and more—to learn why these competitors are currently ranking at the top of Google search results.
If you’re drawing a blank when it comes to keyword ideas, I recommend taking our Keyword Research tool for quick spin—it’ll give you relevant suggestions that are tailored to your niche & already have proven search demand. And if you want further reading, I also wrote a world-class guide to keyword research, packed with insights.
Understanding the SEO Report Elements: What You See & What Matters
The real strength of RightBlogger’s SEO Report is how clear it makes your optimization process, backed with easily understandable insights.

Let’s break down each of these elements, so you fully understand how they’ll impact the potential for your content to rank high and get AI recommendations.
Top Sources
Right at the very top of your SEO Report, you’ll see 5-6 top sources. These are the articles (or pages) that currently rank highest in Google search for the keyword phrase you’re optimizing for:

Hover over any of those source icons to get a preview of the article’s headline. You can also click on any of those icons to open them in a new tab and study what’s working so well with this content.
There’s always something to learn here—are they using numbers in the headline, do they have the current year, is there a variation of your keyword phrase in the headline, or is there something else to take away about the article as a whole? Watch my full in-depth tutorial for a real life example of this analysis.
SEO Score
Your post automatically gets a score based on keyword use, headings, word count, and all of the other elements that make for SEO-optimized content.

👋 Important: The goal isn’t to optimize your content to 100%. I find that landing in the 80–95% score range puts you in the strongest position to have content that ranks well (while still writing for real humans too), without over-optimizing.
Content Structure
This section lays out the major structural elements of your content—word count, headings, paragraphs, and images—comparing your content to that of the sources that are already ranking at the top of Google search results.

The goal here isn’t to always be exactly in the middle of these ranges. Sometimes your content will turn out a little shorter or a little longer than the averages—based on what you feel it really needs in order to be useful to people. That’s a good thing. Just make sure you’re generally within or somewhat near these ranges for key structural elements, and Google will be primed to consider your content for quicker ranking.
Top Keywords
These matter a lot, in fact this is by far the most important element of the SEO Report. Your report shows the must-have terms—and ideal number of mentions you’ll want to aim for, in order to position your content for SEO success.

For example with the report above, you can see that the report suggested a specific number of uses of the keywords “ChatGPT,” “Claude,” and “structured data” for my sample post on the topic of LLM SEO.
🚨If you see zeros next to any of the keyword suggestions from your SEO Report, it’s time to add some new content to your article that’ll help fill those gaps. Each missing keyword is a chance to improve your content and potentially leapfrog the existing top ranking competitors. Watch my full video tutorial for guidance on how to do this.

Making Strategic SEO Edits & Improvements for Google and LLMs
Once I see what’s missing based on the analysis of my SEO Report, I’ll get to work on specific improvements that give my content a greater shot at ranking straight out the gates. Watch my full tutorial video below to see how I do this.

Here are some specific actionable changes I’d make to our example article on LLM SEO, based on the SEO Report we’ve used in this guide:
- Title and Meta Description: Adjust the title and meta description (use the SERP Preview Tool Features to see how it’ll appear in search results, and make sure it’s not too long).
- New Content: Add meaningful sections using underused keywords—don’t just stuff them into your article. Instead, create new header sections, add bullet lists, and sometimes you can even drop in a comparison table if it helps clarity.
- User-Intent: Check if my post actually answers the main questions people ask. A clear intro with bullet takeaways satisfies both readers and AI LLMs that both wanna see immediate answers.
- Numbers and Years in Headers: Use numbers and even the current year in your headlines and/or header sections where it fits (for example “3 Best Strategies for LLM SEO in 2025”). Google, AI models, and people alike love the clarity of lists, and AI systems seem to cite them more frequently than other content formats.
Bonus Tip: Add visuals, screenshots, or a quick video explanation of the topic you’re creating content about. Even if you use just one AI-generated image or a short screencast showing your process for the topic at hand, having standout imagery (and ideally video) will almost always bump up engagement and time on page. Increasing these figures will translate directly to higher ranking potential.

What is a RightBlogger SEO Report, and what does it check?
A RightBlogger SEO Report is a checklist plus competitive analysis for one piece of content. It compares your draft to the pages that already rank on Google for your target keyword.
It shows top sources, an SEO score, content structure (word count, headings, images), and a “Top Keywords” list with suggested mention counts. Those keyword gaps are usually the fastest wins.
You can open an SEO Report from any RightBlogger tool that has an Editor field, like the RightBlogger AI Article Writer. Write first, then run the report so you can improve what you already have.
For step-by-step help, follow the SEO reports guide.
How do I choose the right keyword phrase for an SEO Report?
Choose a keyword people actually search for, and make sure it matches what your post truly answers. If the keyword intent is “how to,” your post should teach steps, not just talk about the topic.
Start with one clear main phrase, not five. A focused keyword helps the report give cleaner advice on headings, structure, and must-use terms.
If you are not sure what to target, use the Keyword research tool to find phrases with real demand. Pick the best fit, then run the SEO Report and build your sections around the keyword list.
After publishing, you can update the report later as search results change.
What SEO score should I aim for, and how do I raise it without keyword stuffing?
Aim for an SEO score around 80 to 95, not 100. That range usually means you are optimized while still sounding natural to real readers.
To raise your score, use the report’s “Top Keywords” as topics, not filler words. If a keyword shows 0 uses, add a new section that truly explains it, with an H2 or H3 and a few helpful examples.
Next, check content structure. If top results use more headings or images, break up long paragraphs and add one or two visuals that support the point.
Also tighten your title and meta description so they match the keyword and what the page delivers. If you need help, use Write meta titles.
How do SEO Reports help my content get found in ChatGPT and other AI search tools?
SEO Reports help because AI systems often prefer clear, complete answers and well-structured pages. When your post covers the key terms and questions for a topic, it is easier for AI tools to understand and cite.
Use the report to add missing concepts and improve scannability. A short intro with bullet takeaways, clear section headers, and simple definitions can help both Google and AI readers.
You can also add a small comparison table, steps, or a “best tools” list when it fits. Those formats are easy to quote and summarize.
If you want to go further, the Answer engine optimizer can help you shape content for AI-style answers. For strategy basics, see Generative SEO basics.
Can RightBlogger auto-optimize my post using the SEO Report, and who gets access?
Yes. RightBlogger includes an Auto-Optimize feature that can improve your content based on your SEO Report insights, so you spend less time making manual edits.
A good workflow is: draft your post, run an SEO Report, then use Auto-Optimize to handle the obvious fixes. After that, do a quick human pass to make sure it still sounds like you.
SEO Reports are not on the free plan. They are available on Pro and Business plans, since they rely on deeper data and analysis.
To learn what Auto-Optimize changes and when to use it, read Auto Optimize.
