Want to download a clean YouTube transcript? You can’t, at least not from YouTube directly. They’ll show you the transcript with the “Show Transcript” button, but they don’t let you copy it as a clean paragraph, they don’t fix the punctuation, and they don’t give you a download option.

- Always add YouTube tags to your video. Get your most important ones in first, since the tags section is limited to 500 characters.
- Prompt your viewers to like, subscribe, and share your video: this helps signal to YouTube that your video is popular
- Create a properly-sized thumbnail (and title) that stand out and encourage clicks. YouTube takes your clickthrough rate into consideration when deciding on rankings.
- If you haven’t yet recorded your video, make sure you say your keyword at least once, so that it appears in your transcript
Digging Deeper into the Timestamp and Cleanup Options
